We provide business development training and coaching for associates through senior attorneys. Business development can be a daunting task for many attorneys because they have no training in it and it can feel unseemly or undignified. Often, in order to avoid uncertainty or insecurity, attorneys simply decline to participate and lose the opportunity to drive their own career in directions that may be more rewarding to them both financially and professionally. Repeatedly, we have seen how training and individual coaching can help people overcome barriers and experience success. Not every attorney can be a rainmaker, but every attorney can learn to use their strengths to realize business development successes.
Firms often choose to begin a Business Development program with a half-day in-house seminar followed with 6 individual coaching sessions for participating attorneys. The duration of such a program is therefore 7 months in duration (coaching sessions spaced one month apart).
